Fulfill General Education Requirements
Taking a Telecourse is a great way to fulfill part of your general
education requirements. Below is a list of general education courses
available as Telecourses.
ANT 125 750
A broad view of the nature and diversity of humanity, including
human evolution, prehistoric culture, ancient civilizations, race,
language, and cultural traditions, with an emphasis on non-western
societies.
AST 114 750
Prerequisite: eligibility for MTH 101. Historical and descriptive
aspects of astronomy; topics of current interest related to space
science. Students may not receive credit for both AST 114 and 115.
CFD 155 750
Basic principles that govern human development from the prenatal
period to death; developmental tasks and interrelations of family
members through the life span.
CHM 105/106 750
Emphasis will be placed on chemical fundamentals and applications.
CHM 105 students must also register for a laboratory section.
No
lab is required with CHM 106. Neither CHM 105 or 106 will count
toward a chemistry major. Both CHM 105 & 106 are recommended
for students required to take only one semester of chemistry;
however
CHM 106 may not satisfy the chemistry requirement for other majors.
ECO 155 750
This course may be used to satisfy one of the Social Sciences
components of the general education requirements (unless AGR 144
has also been taken).
HST 121 750
Formation of the United States and its civilization from the
Age of Discovery through the Reconstruction Era. Emphasis on the
influence of the frontier and Native American, European and African
heritages. Dr. Duane G. Meyer leads the televised instruction.
LLT 121 750
This course is a study of Greek and Roman myths and legends
as they appear in art, music and literature.
LLT 180 750
This course explores the quest for self-knowledge as it is represented
in the literature of non-English cultures.
MUS 241 750
A study of the way music creatively expresses self-understanding,
cultural environment, and aesthetic values from ancient to modern
times. Open to all students except music majors. CDs available for
rent. Videos not available for rent.
PLS 101 750
Familiarizes students with the institutions and constitutional
framework of the United States and Missouri. Emphasizes the values,
rights, and responsibilities that shape public decision making of
active and informed citizens and influence contemporary public affairs
in a democratic society.
THE 101 750
Featuring the PBS series Spotlight on Theatre, this course explores
the relationships of performing arts and their audience; promoting
more understanding and better critical response in the viewer.
