Mission
The mission of the Extended Campus is to provide leadership in coordinating University,
community,
and global resources to promote lifelong learning.
We address the changing needs of our many publics through outreach,
responsive educational programming and multiple delivery systems.
Our purpose is to encourage and facilitate the continued development
of the educated person.
The Extended Campus
implements the Missouri State University public affairs mission and executes the University's
primary purpose of "preparing educated persons" through
a wide variety of dynamic programs and services.
Our special charge is to:
Provide support services for adult and nontraditional students
Initiate opportunities for lifelong learning
Administer outreach programs throughout the University's service
area
Facilitate professional development and special credit programs
in response to community needs
Through the Extended Campus, Missouri State University is making a major outreach
commitment in response to the changing needs of Missouri citizens
throughout southwest Missouri and beyond. To accomplish this outreach
mission, a wide range of traditional and technology-based delivery
systems are being used to provide coursework that has previously
been unavailable.
