What is Dual Credit?

Through the Pre-College Dual Credit program, qualified high school students are able to enroll in specifically approved classes taught in their local high schools during normal high school hours. They receive “dual credit,” i.e., both high school and university credit for their work. Dual credit gives motivated, college bound high school students the opportunity to get a “jump start” on college by earning college credit before attending on a full-time basis and at 1/2 the cost of regular fees charged by the university.

Missouri State University is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Credit earned under this program will be applicable toward a degree at Missouri State University and is generally transferable to other accredited colleges and universities. Because each institution establishes its own transfer credit policies, Missouri State University cannot guarantee transfer of credit to another university.
