Off-Campus High School Dual Credit Program

Administrator Resources

Interested in providing this opportunity to students in your district?

Here’s what to do:

1. Call Academic Outreach toll free, 1-877-678-2005 or locally,836-4128. Discuss your dual credit needs with Debbie Penn, Program Coordinator.

2. Mail your resume or vita, letter of interest and course syllabus to Missouri State University, The Extended Campus, Academic Outreach, 901 S. National, Springfield, MO 65897-0027.

3. We will put you in contact with the appropriate academic department head and forward your materials for academic department review. We can send you a course syllabus to compare your course with the Missouri State University on campus course if you desire.

4. We will be happy to set up a time to visit your school with school officials (principals, counselors, teachers, etc.) regarding this opportunity. We will also be happy to visit with parents and students.

5. Once faculty are approved, we will send an official agreement to the school district for signatures, allowing us to proceed with the revenue sharing agreement. This agreement allows one-half of the net income to be returned to the school district. Students pay one-half (rounded up to the nearest whole dollar amount) the on campus basic student fee.

6. Each semester, when an approved course begins, a Missouri State University representative will visit the class for a 20-30 minute presentation to answer any student’s questions and to hand out registration materials.

7. Students will generally have 2 days to get the materials completed, returned to the high school for the counselors signatures and verification of GPA and ACT scores.

8. The counselor will mail the materials back to Academic Outreach, or a Missouri State University representative will return to the high school to pick up the completed forms.

9. The academic department at Missouri State University is responsible for course content and will assist dual credit faculty with course content. The academic department will also assist with book selection and/or approval.
