Message From the Assistant Provost for the Extended Campus

Welcome to the Extended Campus web site at Missouri State University!

As you can see from browsing the Extended Campus web site, the Extended Campus at Missouri State University coordinates a very wide variety of programs and services. We recognize that we live in an environment of rapid change and a competitive educational market. That being the case, Missouri State University's Extended Campus is especially characterized by dynamic change in attempting to address the needs of the students we serve, by a customer service orientation, and by a positive "can do" philosophy. As part of a metropolitan university with a public affairs mission, we are proud to be part of a University that places a high priority on moving beyond the "ivy walls of academia" to reach out and serve the educational needs of our community and region.

The Extended Campus continues to be one of the fastest growing organizational units at Missouri State University, especially due to the popularity of various outreach programs such as Missouri State Online and the Off-Campus Dual Credit Program. Distance learning programs now have more than 7,100 enrollments annually with approximately 3,000 of those enrolling in Internet-based instruction courses. Other outreach offerings continue to show strength, especially the High School Dual Credit Program which now has more than 3,100 enrollments each year. Campus-based programs such as the Evening College and the Intersession Program continue to flourish with more than 10,800 enrollments in the Evening College and more than 3,300 participants in the three Intersession periods offered throughout the year.

More impressive than the numbers, however, is the dedication of our staff and their customer service orientation. Regardless of age, location, or background, the students we serve are viewed as valuable customers, and our staff are committed to going "the extra mile" to assist our "customers" in every way we can.
