Students Enrolled in Springfield Programs at the West Plains Campus
The general policy for weather is that classes will not be canceled because of inclement weather. Students should use their own good judgment regarding travel when weather conditions are questionable. However, in extreme conditions classes may be canceled. Faculty, staff, and students should call the Missouri State University-WP Weather Hotline at 417-255-8075 for information regarding the status of Missouri State University-WP classes, Extended Campus classes, and Missouri State University-Springfield Academic Outreach classes. An official announcement will be issued through the local radio stations and Springfield television stations only if Missouri State University-West Plains and Extended Campus Classes are canceled. For Extended Campuses only: If high school classes are canceled ( Houston or Mountain Grove) then Missouri State University-WP classes in those locations also will be canceled. There is no need for students to call the central offices or their instructor if they cannot attend class because of weather conditions. Faculty members are encouraged to allow make-up work for classes missed due to inclement weather conditions.
