INDEX: RESOURCE GUIDE TO CAMPUS SERVICES

Students Enrolled in Springfield Programs at the West Plains Campus

Advisement

For academic advisement issues, Springfield students first should consult the staff at the Academic Outreach and Teacher Education Office located at 308 Pennsylvania Avenue. (Education – 417-255-7930 or Academic Outreach - 417-255-7931). However, the Missouri State-West Plains’ Student Advisement and Academic Support office (SAAS) is an additional resource for Springfield students who already have designated advisors but need additional help with advising issues, campus resources, registration questions and transfer assistance. SAAS, located in the Garnett Library (417-255-7222), also is available to assist Springfield students in the advising process if their advisors are unavailable.

In addition to advisement, the Student Advisement and Academic Support office (SAAS) also has highly trained staff available to assist all students in the areas of reading, writing, math, and study skills. Students who have been out of school for several years will find these services especially helpful. Tutors, computer programs, videos, and other resources are available to aid students wishing to brush up on skills, as well as to study for the ACT.
