Credit Courses & Programs
Evening Courses
Evening course offerings and evening degree programs are provided through the regular academic departments of the University, and thus are an integral part of the University’s overall academic program.
New office location for Adult Student Services: Carrington Hall, Room 314.
Distance Learning Courses
Off-Campus
and Interactive Video
Missouri State University brings quality instruction to students throughout southwest
Missouri at various locations. Faculty for these courses
are regular Missouri State University faculty who commute from the Springfield
Campus or who use the latest technology by teaching via BearNet,
or qualified instructors from the local community who have
been approved by appropriate academic departments as having
areas of special expertise. Locations include Branson, Joplin, Lebanon,
Mountain Grove, Neosho, Nevada, West Plains, and other locations. Also refer to the Missouri Virtual School Program offered through the College of Natural and Applied Sciences.

Telecourses and Interactive Telecourses
Telecourses allow students the opportunity to take classes
from within their own homes. These courses are ideal for the independent learner
who, due to job or family commitments, may not have the time
to come on-campus on a regular basis.
Missouri State
Online (Internet-based)
Imagine taking college courses
and earning credit without ever leaving your home or office!
All you need is a computer,
a modem, and an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to access
your classes. No more commutes to campus, rearranging your
busy schedule, fighting for a parking space, or finding a
baby-sitter! |
Intersession Courses
Intersession courses are short, intensive credit
courses offered in three different periods of the year, between
the regular academic semesters.
Off-Campus High School Dual Credit Courses
Through
the Pre-College Dual Credit program, qualified high school students
are able to enroll in specifically approved classes taught
in their local high schools during normal high school hours. They
receive dual credit, i.e., both high school and university
credit for their work. Dual credit gives motivated, college bound
high school students the opportunity to get a jump start on
college by earning college credit before attending on a full-time
basis.
