STEP 4: Advisement and RegistrationAfter you receive your acceptance letter from the Office of Admissions, an appointment should be scheduled with an advisor for registration. As a first time Missouri State student you will not be able to register on the Web. However, if you are unable to come to campus for an advisement/registration appointment, you can work with an advisor on the telephone to select your classes and then fax the Course Enrollment Form in to be processed. An advisor will be able to answer your many questions about the University, and help you get registered for your first semester. All first time students, as well as all freshmen and sophomores, will need to have an advisors “release to register” prior to processing your registration each semester. This is the equivalent to a signature on your registration form, but is completed electronically. If your major is undecided, you will be advised in the Adult Student Services Office. Call 417-836-6929 to make an appointment. Some Saturday and evening appointments are available for those who are unable to come during the regular work week. If you have declared a major, you should call the department of your major and ask to be assigned an advisor. The Financial Aid Office can advise you on the final steps to receiving your financial aid.
