“I am considering returning to college for my bachelor’s. I have absolutely no idea what to do first. Should I order high school and business school transcripts first? How do I determine whether or not credits received towards my Associate’s are transferable? Where do I start?” It's Easier Than You Think! You know you want to go back to college! You’ve decided where you want to go and maybe even what you want to study. Now what do you do? You’ve already gone through the hard part… making the commitment to return to school is never easy but, once made, you probably have more questions than answers and need to know what to do next. The following guide will take you one step at a time through the process that has been so daunting. Always keep in mind deadlines as you make progress through these steps. With each step we encourage you to rely on the Adult Student Services staff to answer any questions or redirect you if the need be. If you are a typical adult/nontraditional student returning to school, you are probably 25 years of age or older. Or, you may be coming back to complete educational goals you began years ago as a traditional age student. With the changing economic environment, many displaced workers are going back to school to obtain new skills to be able to compete in the modern day job market. As a result, students 25 and older are the fastest growing population in higher education today. The Adult Student Services Office is available to you and can help make your transition to college life as stress free as possible while helping see you on your way to a successful educational experience.
